The Tsarouchi is known as one of the distinct features of The Evzones. The soldiers of the Greek presidential guard. Tsarouchia are hand sewn sewn together with stiff leather and have an upturned toe covered by a swollen pompom. The pompom was meant to make the shoe water proof but also a secret hiding spot for small knives.
